Delia Huddy

British author of whom I know practically nothing. She has written a number of books for children of varying ages from beginning readers to teens/young adults. One book is horse-themed, although does not have a huge amount of horse content in it: Gold Top Tigger is a book aimed at younger readers. It is unfortunately a very hard book to find but when it does appear is usually cheap.

If anyone knows anything more about the author I would love to hear from you.

GOLD TOP TIGGER
(HAMISH HAMILTON 1977)
ILLUSTRATED BY NICOLE GOODWIN
Rare
SUMMARY: Slight pony content in this book for younger readers. John and his friend Tigger look forward to spending the holidays at Aunt Polly's. They especially enjoy visiting with the milkman's horse Bingo and helping with deliveries by leading Bingo. But then one day Mr. Giddy the milkman tells them that Bingo is to be retired and a new van replacing the cart for deliveries. The children miss Bingo and don't like the new van and when the van starts having problems the two boys set out to convince Mr. Giddy to bring back Bingo and his cart.
PONYMAD VIEW: A nice little story for younger readers. I like the sentiment behind the story which is that of trying to keep hold of old-fashioned methods and values. However the resolution of the story, though heart-warming, is sadly rather unrealistic in today's world.
PONYMAD RATING: 3 HORSESHOES
